Making the Complex Simple
Prospector™ makes extensive use of the Windows® interface to implement wizards. These wizards guide users in a step-by-step process through operations previously thought to be too complex to be widely adopted on the shop floor. At every step, Prospector’s built-in tool making know-how embedded in the knowledge base will automatically suggest solutions that represent your preferences and shop rules. For example, making a new 3D program requires 4 simple steps or less:
STEP 1
Indicate the area(s) to machine. Use the Remaining Stock Model to locate areas to machine. Develop "windows" around areas of stock.
STEP 2
Choose a machining strategy. PowerSource™ technology automatically chooses a strategy based on your rules for best machining practices.
Note: the "Finish" button on the New Program Wizards is enabled! This means that Prospector has already determined all parameters needed to develop this cutter path.
STEP 3 (optional)
Choose a tool. Again, PowerSource™ technology makes it possible to choose the best tool for the job given the stock conditions, machining strategy and shop preferences.
STEP 4 (optional)
Fine tune any program parameters if you wish. Although PowerSource™ has chosen the parameters for the entire program based on your rules, you may change any program parameters along the way.
Click "Finish" and your done!
Simplicity of design coupled with PowerSource technology means that we can train new users who may have never touched a computer before in 3 days or less. That's what we mean when we say Prospector is the only NC programming system designed from the start for shop floor programming.
