DesignGateway™ File Formats

File Formats Supported by the Internal Viewer
File formats are being added on a regular basis.
When a file is opened by DesignGateway, it first looks to see if the internal viewer can read the file's extension. If the extension is in the list and is checked ON then the file is opened by the internal viewer. If the extension is in the list, but is turned OFF, DesignGateway will check to see if the file type can be opened by a DesignGateway Model Server and will attempt to open the file. If this attempt does not open the file, DesignGateway passes the file to operating system to see if there is a Windows application for that file extension. If there is an association, the appropriate application is launched otherwise the file is passed to the internal viewer and opened as either ASCII or HEX. Multiple page documents are supported where applicable (Tiff, Postscript).
